We met some people that were waiting for the parade that told the children about the shield and how Hawkes Bay won it 8 to 0 from Waikato way back then. We also made connections with other community members eg Twyford School, the lady selling the flags that let the children hold them and the lady who gave the children free ballooons. The children were surprised by the crowds and the band with the bagpipes. ( Mrs Bennett).
